The creation by Anouska Hempel of a new heaven in Itacare, Brazil: emerging majestically from the canopy of the Rainforest, with views across the ocean, is a minimalist monolithic work of breath-taking architecture offering a marvellous array of spa facilities in a resort designed to contribute, in its powerful aesthetic effect, to the drama of its natural setting. Forty individual villas and pavilions, all designed with Hempel's precision and detail - complete this visionary development, scheduled for completion in 2010.
