

Anouska Hempel's original design was conceived as an exercise in elemental purity - white floating walls, below which may be glimpsed the dancing feet of waiters; a long black diving board of a bar, suspended above a grey mercurial sea; a fireplace submerged in a jade room. Dishes celebrating Italian and Thai cuisines were designed by Anouska Hempel to follow through the sculptural aesthetic of the restaurant, to give the diner an experience of what was immediately acclaimed as an iconic achievement.
